Job Summary:

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Member Service Representative lll (MSR lll), will accurately and efficiently assist SCCCU’s members with financial transactions, loan application processing, resolution of problems, assist with questions and perform a variety of duties to support operations, internal departments and retail functions, while promoting and advising on its products and services. Additionally, this position will be expected to rotate between all SCCCU branches to provide coverage. Generally working an entire week at a specific branch, however, specific day changes may be necessary based on operational needs.

Responsibilities / Duties:

Provide exceptional customer service to members and possess a professional, friendly demeanor;

Possess an understanding of SCCCU’s products / services to enable members to be connected to the product / service best suited for the member;

Maintain a current working knowledge of the products / services, operational policies and procedures within SCCCU;

Assist members with opening / closing accounts; address related questions; resolve related issues and refer to next level of authority, if needed;

Receive, inspect and verify cash and negotiable instruments; process financial transactions with accuracy to include deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, wire transfers, sell cashier’s checks, money orders and transfer members’ funds as directed;

Interview and interact with consumer loan applicants to ensure accurate, completion of information and that documentation is received and provided to applicants, prior to submission to a loan officer;

Provide assistance to the consumer lending department and within the loan documentation process, as required;

Complete all required annual regulatory and lending training, as assigned;

Ability to solve issues relating to members’ concerns, account errors and resolution of complex members’ account problems;

Balance cash drawer and transactions at the end of the day;

Cross-sell SCCCU’s products / services;

Participate in community development events and establish community relationships supporting SCCCU;

Perform tasks such as typing, filing, computer input, answering phones;

Travel between SCCCU’s branches, as required;

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

At least 3 years of experience in a similar role;

High school diploma or GED;

Bilingual English / Spanish proficiency required;

Proficient MS Office, related software, 10-key calculator, fax, photocopier and multi-line phone skills;

Exceptional customer service skills;

Proficient oral, written communication and interpersonal skills;

Astute attention to detail, organizational and time management skills;

Ability to stand for long periods of time;

Valid CA driver’s license and clean and insurable driving record.

Compensation:

$23.00 - $30.51 per hour, depending on experience, for this non-exempt, full-time position - (Grade 7). 

$500 sign-on bonus paid after 90 days of employment.

15 days of paid vacation in years 1 – 3 of employment on an accrued basis and rising incrementally thereafter;

40 hours of annual paid sick time on an accrued basis;
