Job Title: Events Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:
An events assistant supports in the design and implementation of events sponsored by all areas within Campus Life. This includes securing vendor services and technical resources, assisting in promotion and logistics, and working with staff in producing events that foster student participation and supports the mission of the department.

JOB DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand the goals, intention and targeted student population for specific events
  • Secure dates, space and times for in-person and/or virtual Campus Life events
  • Input events details into the college’s event management system, and work closely with the Events Office to secure room and furniture arrangements necessary for the event
  • Communicate with vendors and secures services
  • Work with and delegate tasks to student ambassadors on event logistics
  • Assist with paperwork required from the Business Office such as quotes, invoices, sign-in sheets and receiving copies
  • Design, or assist with the designing, of event flyers and program promotional materials
  • Work with Marketing and Communications in updating the departmental web pages on the college’s website
  • Work with staff in securing appropriate technological resources for events such as laptops, fenders, microphones, etc.
  • Work with staff to input and track data
  • Assist with coordinating the logistics of the event the day of, including but not limited to, addressing challenges, set up and clean up, music, food, and communicating with staff and students
  • Collaborate with area managers, student ambassadors and the college’s marketing and communications team to arrange promotion of events on campus
  • Assist with the distribution, collection and compilation of event assessments
  • Assist with tabling and representing Campus Life at college-wide events
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience working with student groups or clubs preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Office support experience
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Adobe


SALARY/BENEFITS:

  • $23.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
  • Medical and dental benefits available
