Job Type: Part time 1099 Contractor position (60-80 hours/Month)
Pay: 
Starting at $40.00 per hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience

Job Overview :

We are excited to announce an opening for an IT Support Specialist at Nu3s. This is a Hybrid contract position with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a strong technical background and a commitment to ensuring the efficiency and security of our IT systems. As we launch our business, you will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure that supports our operations. You will be responsible for everything from computer systems and network infrastructure to security systems and surveillance appliances. This role will require flexibility, with both remote and on-site work required as necessary for troubleshooting and support.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Computer Systems, Printers, and Peripherals:

    • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other devices.
    • Perform regular system updates, backups, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
    • Manage and troubleshoot software systems, including POS software and other related applications, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
    • Identify and resolve software issues, providing technical support to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure software tools meet business needs and are functioning optimally.
    • Perform regular software updates, maintenance, and testing to ensure system performance and security.
  • Network Infrastructure and Appliances:

    • Manage and maintain the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN).
    • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Monitor network performance to ensure optimal security and connectivity.
    • Implement and manage VPNs and other remote access solutions.
  • Security Systems:

    • Install, configure, and maintain access control systems, alarm systems, and intrusion alarms.
    • Ensure security systems are functioning correctly and address issues promptly.
    • Conduct regular security audits and implement measures to enhance security.
  • Surveillance Appliances:

    • Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems.
    • Monitor and manage surveillance footage, ensuring data integrity and security.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to surveillance equipment.
  • PA Systems:

    • Install, configure, and maintain public address (PA) systems.
    • Ensure PA systems are operational and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Compliance and Policies:

    • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and IT best practices.
    • Ensure compliance with non-disclosure agreements (NDA) and confidentiality requirements.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of IT infrastructure and support activities.
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technologies, and advancements in IT services.
  • General Responsibilities:

    • Perform additional duties as required.
    • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
    • Consistently embody and exemplify the company’s core values in all aspects of work.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in IT Technology or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications:

    • Certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA are a plus.
  • Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience as an IT Specialist or in a similar role.
    • Experience in IT Support within the automotive, cafe, and car wash industries, especially in high-traffic environments such as NYC, is a plus.
    • Proficiency with security systems, CCTV, and PA systems.
  • Functional Knowledge:

    • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
    • In-depth understanding of network infrastructure and devices.
    • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
