The Role
We are seeking a dynamic Lead Architectural Engineer to support both non-manufacturing and manufacturing projects across GM’s global facilities. As the GM expert on architectural systems for manufacturing, office, warehouse, and lab facilities, you will collaborate with an industry-leading team that designs, constructs, and maintains facilities and building assets for diverse operational functions. Your role will ensure these activities are conducted in a safe, compliant, and cost-efficient manner, leveraging advanced technology to promote social and ecological sustainability.

What You’ll Do
Lead Liaison with Supplier Architectural Engineering Firms : Function as the primary point of contact and coordinator with supplier architectural engineering firms, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
Provide Expert Guidance : Serve as the GM authority, offer timely and informed guidance, addressing inquiries and providing solutions efficiently.
Project Collaboration : Work alongside a top-tier team to design, construct, and maintain facilities, ensuring all activities are safe, compliant, and cost-efficient.
Develop Project Proposals and Scopes : Create comprehensive proposals and detailed project scopes, outlining objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
Respond to RFIs and Conduct Drawing Reviews : Address Requests for Information (RFIs) promptly and perform thorough reviews of architectural drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate Across Engineering Disciplines : Work closely with various engineering disciplines to foster a multidisciplinary approach, ensuring cohesive and integrated project outcomes.
Sustainability Focus : Leverage advanced technology to promote social and ecological sustainability in all projects.
Global Impact : Support projects across GM’s global facilities, contributing to diverse operational functions.

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, or related field of study
7 years or more of industry experience
Knowledge of architectural technical specifications and design guidelines
Ability to apply architectural specifications and provide guidance to stakeholders
Facilities experience in an industrial setting
Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment, with a talent for organization, collaboration, and communication
Ability to travel 20% of the time within the United States
A company vehicle will be provided for this role with successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review
