Primary Objectives
The Marketing Communications (MarCom) Manager is a professional staff member responsible for assisting the Poarch Band of Creek Indians (PBCI) External Communications team with the on-going development and implementation of external marketing, public relations, promotions, and special events to raise awareness for the Tribes brands and programs. This role will also work with PBCI Tribal departments and PBCI Tribal entities to meet annual public relations and marketing objectives as required. This individual reports to the Director of External Communications and works closely with the Director to provide day-to-day management of the team’s personnel and resources, ensuring work is produced on time, within budget, and meets the overall goals.
Professional Staff of the Poarch Creek Indians will consistently demonstrate the abilities to influence, innovate, flex their style, and problem solve along with a strong commitment to embodying the core values of the Poarch Creek Indians, which include Perseverance, Opportunity, Accountability, Respect, Culture, and Honesty.

Essential Functions
  • Assists in creation and implementation of PBCI’s annual public relations and marketing plan.
  • Manages day-to-day tactical execution of public relations, marketing, promotions, and branding projects, coordinating personnel resources, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Collaborates with team and contractors to develop creative briefs, reviewing creative prior to presentation of work to ensure it aligns with goals and that all mandatory requirements are met.
  • Builds and maintains solid partnerships with PBCI Tribal departments and Tribal entities to better develop, coordinate, direct, and facilitate strategic communications designed to meet business goals.
  • Manages departments project management software system, ensures team maintains a high level of accuracy with listings, and notifies management of issues in a timely manner.
  • Assists with day-to-day management of team and contractors by providing clear, concise direction on projects and timely feedback.
  • Develops and analyzes timely reports on campaign/program performance, results, and challenges; identifying ways to improve growth and achieve department goals.
  • Assists in research, development, and execution of new ideas to further department goals.
  • Participates on Crisis Communication team and attends ongoing training, as needed.
  • Stays informed of developments in the field of marketing and communications to foster ideas and innovation.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Marketing, or Advertising is required.
  • A minimum of (3) three years’ of progressive experience in a marketing or communications role within a corporate setting is required.
  • Proven technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Word Press, Project Management software (Trello, Toodledo, etc.) and social media management platforms is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills is required.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in an extremely organized manner while consistently meeting critical deadlines is required.
  • Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
  • Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record according to Tribal insurance guidelines.
  • Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.

Compensation and Benefits
  •  The starting pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.
