We are seeking a passionate music educator dedicated to inspiring a love of music and providing students with a comprehensive introduction to music theory, appreciation, and choral performance. Position Overview: As the Music and Choir Teacher at Royal Palm Academy, you will foster a vibrant, engaging, and joyful learning environment where students from K-8 can explore, appreciate, and develop their musical talents. Through dynamic instruction and creative exploration, you will provide a cohesive and comprehensive foundation in music theory and performance while instilling a lifelong appreciation for the beauty and wonder of music. Key Responsibilities: Embrace and uphold the mission, philosophy, and values of Royal Palm Academy. Plan and deliver dynamic, age-appropriate music lessons that introduce and build upon musical elements, theory, and skills for students in grades K-8. Foster an appreciation for music through exploration, creativity, and active engagement with various musical styles and genres. Lead the school choir and organize choral performances for school events and celebrations. Cultivate a vibrant and joyful classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and confidence in musical expression. Encourage student participation in musical exploration, including singing, playing instruments, movement, and listening activities. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students, ensuring inclusivity and engagement for all learners. Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support a cohesive and enriching fine arts program. Organize and direct school-wide musical productions and performances that celebrate student achievement and creativity. Utilize technology to enhance music education and maintain accurate records of student progress. Communicate regularly with parents to share student successes and foster a strong home-school connection. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field. Must have 2+ years of experience teaching in a structured K-8 school setting OR be a recent college graduate with the equivalent of an education minor. Passion for inspiring joy and appreciation for music in students of all ages. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and encourage students across multiple grade levels. Experience organizing and leading choral performances and school-wide musical events. Proficiency with music education technology and tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaboration and teamwork. Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching music in independent or Catholic schools. Ability to direct musical productions and performances. Familiarity with integrating music theory and hands-on musical exploration. Physical and Other Demands: Ability to perform various physical tasks, including standing, sitting, and actively engaging with students during lessons and rehearsals. Maintain composure and professionalism in a dynamic classroom and performance environment. Ability to manage and supervise students effectively during classes, choir rehearsals, and performances. Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 20 pounds. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
