Role Overview

Poker Skill is an AI-driven poker learning platform on a mission to turn poker into a fun, skill-building competitive sport. We're looking for a content creator and social media specialist who is a true poker enthusiast and active in the poker community. In this role, you'll use your poker passion and creative flair to produce engaging content across social platforms, building brand awareness, community engagement, and contributing to the growth of our user base. This fully  remote position offers an  hourly pay rate, with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance and company needs. You will be reporting directly to the Operations Coordinator/Marketing Lead. 

Key Responsibilities

• Content Creation:
  • Develop high-quality written, visual, and video content that aligns with PokerSkill's brand and mission of skill-building.
  • Leverage AI-driven tools to efficiently create and publish content across multiple platforms, and craft compelling stories that resonate with poker players.
• Social Media Management:
  • Execute and refine our social media strategy across platforms. 
  • Monitor poker trends, community conversations, and platform updates to keep content fresh and relevant. Use scheduling and analytics tools to plan posts and optimize content for maximum reach, engagement, and follower growth.
• Poker Community Engagement:
  
  • Be an active voice of Poker Skill in the poker community. 
  • Respond to comments, participate in discussions, and weave current poker trends and terminology into content to spark conversation.
  • Foster genuine connections with players and enthusiasts across forums, groups, and social channels, nurturing an engaged community.
• Design & Multimedia:
  • Create eye-catching graphics and short-form videos for social media using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva. 
  • Ensure all visuals and copy maintain a consistent Poker Skill brand voice, style, and quality.
• Analytics & Optimization::
  • Track content performance and social metrics to inform strategy. 
  • Incorporate SEO best practices (keywords, hashtags) in posts to improve discoverability, and adjust your content approach based on data insights to continually improve engagement.
    
• Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Work closely with the Operations Coordinator/Marketing Lead to align content with broader marketing goals and campaigns. 
  • Provide regular updates on social media performance and share ideas or recommendations to help improve our content and community growth.
  • Remain open to feedback, and adapt content strategies as needed.

Qualifications

• Poker Passion:
  • Deep love for poker and active involvement in the poker community (you play, follow the game, or engage in poker forums regularly). 
  • Solid knowledge of poker rules, terminology, and culture is a must. 
• Content Creation Experience:
  • Proven experience creating compelling content (writing, graphics, video). 
  • You have a portfolio or samples showcasing your creative work and storytelling ability.
• Social Media Savvy:
  • Hands-on experience managing social media accounts and executing social strategies across major platforms. 
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social media algorithms, trends, and best practices to drive engagement and growth.
• Design & Editing Skills:
  • Proficiency with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Canva) and video editing skills to produce polished multimedia content.
• Tools & Analytics:
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms to track performance.
    Basic understanding of SEO (keywords, hashtags) and how to apply it to increase content visibility.
• Bonus Points
• Experience in online community management (fostering and growing user communities). 
• Familiarity with AI content tools (like ChatGPT) for content generation, brainstorming, or analytics
• Prior success managing content and increasing engagement and follower growth on Social Media channels.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with an online audience and collaborating with a remote team.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or a related field is preferred (but passion and experience matter most).

Work Arrangement & Compensation

• Hours : 20-25 hours per week (part-time).

• Location : Fully remote; team based in Austin, TX.

• Compensation : $30–$40/hour, depending on experience and skill set.
