Job Description

We are looking for a Part-Time Staff Accountant to join our Team! APP Properties (appjetcenter.com) is a domestic company operating four Fixed Based Operations at general aviation airports around the country and owning only hangars at a fifth general aviation airport. Fixed Based Operators provide corporate and business terminal and flight services, fuel, hangars, and other ancillary aviation-related services for non-commercial airports. The Staff Accountant would be based at our Stuart, Florida location at Witham Field.

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform a variety of accounting duties including the verification, maintenance, reconciliation, and reporting of accounting data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily recording of cash receipts and reconciliations
• Maintenance of accounts receivable
• Maintenance of accounts payable
• Calculate and process state sales taxes
• Monthly closing process, including balance sheet reconciliations and expense analyses
• Perform/assist with other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of principles and practices of accrual accounting.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Strong computer systems skills, including proficiency in business and accounting computer systems, and Excel.
• Must possess critical thinking, problem solving, judgment and decision-making abilities.
• Must be detailed oriented and organized.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information.
• An independent, self-motivated individual excited to contribute to our team.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited college or university in accounting or related field. Familiarity with accounting systems a plus.

EXPERIENCE

Three to five years of related accounting experience.
