Webster Bank is looking for someone to join the Data Governance team to cultivate, promote, and enhance our Data Governance program. In this position you will be responsible for establishing the data lineage standards, overseeing the data lineage processes, and training the various data roles throughout the enterprise. You will be working with various data owners, data consumers, and data architects to ensure documentation of data lineages’ meet the established standards.

 
Additionally, the DG lineage and governance manager will drive colleague adherence to the Data Governance policy, standards, and targeted operating model within lines of business and corporate functions.

 
Key responsibilities for the role:

  • Establish enterprise data lineage standards.
  • Identify, implement, and manage the best tool(s) to meet Webster Bank’s data lineage needs.
  • Review existing data mapping documentation and work with colleagues to transfer it to the approved business glossary tool.
  • Gain and understanding change procedures impacting data’s life cycle by collaborating with IT data owners.
  • Establish and ensure data change procedures incorporate updates to the documented lineage.
  • Communicate with data consumers and data owners to enforce lineage updates (source to target).
  • Test the lineage documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Support the metadata collection on data elements.
  • Maintain the business glossary and CDE lifecycles metadata.
  • Work with Data Quality team in collection of metadata and the profiling of CDEs.

 
Key skills/experience qualifications for the role:

  • Candidates with advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor’s, and/or Master’s) preferred, yet a High School diploma or GED is required.  Candidates with some combination of coursework and experience, or else extensive related professional experience, are eligible for consideration.
  • Experience in developing and implementing program/functional standards
  • Strong skills in data analysis, information assessment, and data quality review.
  • Strong technical skills: MS Excel / SQL / various data analysis and reporting / Business Intelligence tools.
  • Demonstration of team leadership, project management, and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to objectively analyze and evaluate issues.

The estimated salary range for this position is $115,000.00 to $130,000.00. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
